Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact us at
team@clwbnawa.co.uk and we'll try to help.
Can I come on my own or do I need a partner?
You can come on your own or with a partner. We don't pair people up so if you do come on your own you are not guaranteed to be tied or to tie someone else.
What rope should I use? Where can I buy rope?
We don't have any communal rope. You can buy rope from a number of places online. We have a 10% discount with Shibari Store.
Will someone teach me?
We do not offer tuition at our peer events. We foster a community environment which allows people to learn from each other.
Are there prerequisites for attending?
There are no prerequisites in terms of experience in shibari. We welcome people who are just discovering shibari. We strongly recommend that if you are hoping to tie, that you can competently tie a single column tie and double column tie of some kind, and understand basic frictions.
Whether you are tying, or being tied, it is important that you are familiar with the risks associated with shibari. You can begin by reviewing our safety resources and forming an understanding your own risk profile.
